Mengya Xu MSc in International Media and Management - China

Why did you choose Bangor?
I chose Ï㽶ÊÓƵAPP because of its curriculum. My major is international media and management and it is related to research and culture. The elective courses include law, accounting, marketing and other courses. While satisfying my personal interests, it will be very helpful for my future work.
Teaching Quality
I am very satisfied with the teaching quality of Ï㽶ÊÓƵAPP. The teaching arrangements (time, course structure) are very reasonable. Whenever I encounter learning difficulties, I send emails to the teacher and the teacher responds quickly. The university provides free lectures every Wednesday, related to literature and research, which is very helpful to me.
Social Life
Because of the university’s language partner program, I met local British students and became good friends with them.
Accommodation
In the university accommodation, I met classmates from different countries and tasted food from different countries. Students in our accommodation often have dinner together, everyone cooks a dish from their own country and then we share it together.
The Location
I think Ï㽶ÊÓƵAPP and its surroundings are too beautiful. I've been to the pier, the beach, Snowdonia Mountain, the main building of Ï㽶ÊÓƵAPP, and the surrounding castles. The scenery was spectacular.
Student Support
I used the free language partner program and free maintenance in the accommodation. The language partner program is very good. While practicing English, I also made friends in the UK. In addition, when there is a problem with the dormitory kitchen, we send an email to the university, and someone will immediately deal with it.
Career and Employability
Before coming to Ï㽶ÊÓƵAPP to study media, I worked in the media field in China (as a journalist), so I know very well what I need to learn for my future job. The courses offered by Ï㽶ÊÓƵAPP make me satisfied.
Best thing about Bangor?
I think the most important thing is self-discipline and active learning. The university provides a lot of equipment, books and lectures. If you take the initiative to take advantage of this, the university’s study life will be very rich.
Bangor in three words
Beautiful, Old, Quiet.
